1. Who we are

These terms apply to every use of GameDNA. Using the site, with or without an account, means accepting them.

2. What GameDNA does

GameDNA is a free website for finding games by the skills they demand. The DNA scores are estimates: every game starts with a rating made with the help of AI, and votes from players change the average. They are opinions, not facts about a game, and they may be incomplete or wrong.

We offer the site as it is, without any promise of availability, completeness or accuracy. We may change, limit or end features or the whole service at any time.

3. Your account

An account is optional and free. It is needed only to vote. You sign in with links sent to your email address, so keep access to that mailbox to yourself; you are responsible for what happens with your account. One account per person. If you think someone else used your account, write to us.

You can delete your account at any time on the account page. Your votes are deleted with it.

4. Votes

Your votes are only shown as part of averages, never with your name. You allow us, free of charge, to use them in this aggregated form for as long as your account exists.

5. Store links and prices

Store links lead to third-party shops. Many are affiliate links: if you buy something, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Any purchase is a contract between you and the shop alone; the shop is responsible for its products, prices, delivery and support.

Prices shown on GameDNA come from the shop, are for information only and may be out of date. We do not guarantee any price or availability. The price the shop shows at checkout applies.

6. Fair use

Please do not:

• use GameDNA for anything illegal,
• manipulate votes, for example with several accounts or automated voting,
• scrape or bulk-copy the catalogue,
• disrupt the site, get around its security, or put a heavy load on it with automated requests.

Search engines and AI assistants are welcome to read and cite the pages as described in robots.txt and llms.txt.

7. Intellectual property

The GameDNA software, design, texts and DNA scores belong to us. Game titles, names and trademarks belong to their owners. Basic game facts such as titles and release years come from Wikidata, published under CC0. Using GameDNA gives you no rights to the service itself.

8. Liability

GameDNA is free and provided as it is. We do not promise that it is always available or that its data is complete or up to date, and we are not responsible for decisions you make based on it, such as a purchase.

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential obligations, and only for the damage typical and foreseeable for this kind of service. Otherwise our liability is excluded. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

9. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time on the account page. We may block or close an account that breaks these terms, or close accounts when running the service becomes legally or technically impossible.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page; the version published here applies.

11. Applicable law

German law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection of the country you live in.
